Hurray me!

Well, the other day I did not write anything new - but I deleted my first entry. That also counts as work, as any of you who know anything bout creative work know.

The entry in question was supposed to be a joke on myself, containing an ingenious connection between inquisitive adolescents and lost philosophers, mocking someone who will be 33 in two days (me, me!!), and - anyway, the article was so great that I got confused - and it didn't turn out so great.

But what I really wanted to talk about that day is actually described in the first rule of being a librarian (the entry was called the Old Shoe), which is usually summed up as follows: the quantity of new books will surely replace the quantity of old books.

I can vouch this is not-so-self-evident, for - when purchasing my first stereo deck - I opted for the cassette component first, instead of a CD one - because I had more tapes.

But, this can be applied to other spheres as well, especially in times of birthdays. So, be that material possession, wisdom or simply being at peace - we are changed daily.

As for old friends, one could claim the same but I would also like to quote the following from Merrily We Roll Along: 'new friends pour through the revolving door.. something, something, hum.. some of them worth something too.. but us, old friend - what's to discuss, old friend? here's to us!'
