Of course, the question is why do it. Duty does not sound too good and it also implies some sort of conceit. Must confess my usual answer would have been 'fun' - until yesterday when I read the following quote:

'I don't know why we are here, but I'm pretty sure it's not in order to enjoy ourselves.'
